Are you interested in becoming a teacher?
Did you know we have three undergraduate majors that lead to teacher certification in New York State?
Come to one of our info sessions on April 21 at 10am or April 23 at 3pm, in Catskill 204, to learn more about these majors and the process to officially declare.
- BS in Early Childhood/Childhood Education - Birth-Grade 2 + Grades 1-6
- BS in Childhood and Special Education - Grades 1-6 + Student with Disabilities All Grades
- BS in Adolescent Education - Content Areas: Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, English, Math, Physics, Social Studies and Spanish
As you should know, these majors are restricted to students that have completed 24+ credits, have a least a 3.0 GPA, and have completed the request to declare essay application. The next deadline to apply to declare is May 1. If you will have reached the above criteria by the end of the spring semester, you should plan to apply. Please speak with your academic advisor about the process. The essays are taken very seriously and are rated by faculty reviewers, so take your time and be thorough.
