Rights of Learners and Educators in an AI Future: What We Have and What We Deserve
About this Event
1400 Washington Ave, Albany, NY 12222
In 2026, there is no shortage of AI tools available for students and teachers to augment the learning process. However, many AI tools are designed with the needs and desires of shareholders in mind, rather than the needs and desires of teachers and their students.
In this presentation, Dr. Megan Humburg, postdoctoral fellow with the EngageAI Institute, will discuss what rights educators and learners should fundamentally possess in the age of AI. She will share some of her work with students and teachers to co-design AI tools that align with these rights and offer reflections on how to advocate for a human-centered future for educational technology.
All are welcome.
This event is part of the AI and Democracy: Critical Questions Series sponsored by the AI & Society Research Center, AI & Society College, Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy, School of Education and University Auxiliary Services.
