The first STEM and Earth Sciences Family Day welcomes Capital Region 2nd - 8th grade students and their families. In honor of Earth Day, this free, family event will have over 30 hands-on activities focused on learning and exploring the environment, weather and climate, engineering, nanotechnology and sustainability. 

 

Come see robotic dogs and cloud water collection demonstrations. Make seed bombs, zero electric toys, Earth Day bracelets, slime globes, and biodegradable bird feeders. Hear from local scientists, tour the New York State Mesonet operations center, explore the big globe in UAlbany’s Science-on-a-Sphere Room and even watch weather balloon launches from the ETEC parking lot! At 11a.m., kids can enjoy a special program with career advice from UAlbany alum and Channel 13 meteorologist Christina Talamo!

 

Registration is highly encouraged.
