A moderated discussion about Henry Hobson Richardson, the visionary 19th-century architect who helped create and shape Albany’s architectural landscape, and a rare opportunity to visit the Richardson-designed Courtroom of the Court of Appeals.

 

Featuring authors of Henry Hobson Richardson: Drawings from the Collection of Houghton Library, Harvard University:

-- Jay Wickersham is an architect, lawyer, architectural historian and former professor in practice at the Harvard Graduate School of Design.

-- Chris Milford is a partner in the architectural firm of Milford & Ford Associates, specializing in historic preservation and restoration.

-- Hope Mayo is the former Philip Hofer Curator of Printing and Graphic Arts at Harvard’s Houghton Library.

 

A reception will follow the event in Albany’s City Hall, 24 Eagle Street, Albany, NY 12207, another magnificent example of Richardson’s trademark “Romanesque Revival” work, built in 1883.
