Description: From the stuck clinician asking, “What do I do?” to the layperson who is worried about an older adult in his/her life, attendees will get a refreshing way to approach the particular challenges of mental health in older adults. The presentation will utilize case examples covering a range of issues – mental illness, personality disorders, dementia, family caregivers and solo aging – and describe interventions that optimize the person’s well-being even in less-than-ideal circumstances.
