An Emerging Population: Parents of Estranged Adult Kids (PEAK)

When: Wednesday, January 12, 2022
2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Where:
Cost: $70 ($35 for UA field instructors)
Description: One in eight older adults currently are living with the estrangement from or abandonment by one or more of their adult children. Clinicians at any level of experience need to be equipped to assess for and treat the impacts of this traumatizing life event. Current myths, misunderstandings, and cultural constructs can impact how a clinician approaches this population. Without this understanding, therapists can do further harm to the mental health of those who are suffering through this situation.
