Description: Osvaldo Moraes, Director of the Brazil National Early Warning and Monitoring Centre for Natural Disasters, will detail 10-years of challenges faced while standing-up an early warning system in Brazil, where flash floods, prolonged drought, and landslides are common. Cases of system success and failure will be presented and discussed.
